My Story

I want to raise £2000 for Breck Foundation. With £2000, they could visit 6 schools and empower almost 2000 primary school children. Just by donating £1, you could save 1 child from online harm.

When I was 14 years old, I was gaming online safely and happily (...maybe a bit too much but you know, I turned out all right in the end). When Breck Bednar was 14 years old, he was being groomed through online gaming by a man who would eventually murder him.

Breck was just a normal boy with a family that loved him. He was a smart A-grade student, had lots of friends in real life at school and at air cadets, he had a passion for gaming and computers. You probably wouldn’t have thought of him as vulnerable. But he was. Every child can be. In 2014 Breck was murdered when he met up in-person with a young man he met online, someone he thought was his friend, someone he had been talking to through gaming for over a year, someone he trusted.

Without fundraisers like me, Breck Foundation would not be able to reach as many children, parents or schools. They would not be able to share Breck’s story.

I am running to support them help young people reclaim the internet. Running this marathon won't be easy, but it will be worth it. With your support we can make sure it has the biggest impact and Breck Foundation can continue their lifesaving work.
